# Pairing and Workstations Management

### Pairing the device

Once you’ve signed in and created an account, the next step is to pair it with your headset using the Places app.

1. Open the **Places app** on the headset you want to connect. On first launch, you’ll be prompted to pair the headset with your account, and a pairing code will be displayed.

2. In the **Places Dashboard**, click the **Pair Headset** button and enter the code shown on your headset.

3. Once the code is confirmed, your headset will be successfully paired, and you can continue working in the app.

### Workstations Management

A **Workstation** is a per-device license designed for teams that share VR headsets - both internally and externally. With a Workstation license, a headset is unlocked for seamless use: anyone can put it on and launch the **Places app** without needing to log in.

Each Workstation license is linked to a unique alphanumeric access code. Once this code is entered into the Places app, the headset becomes permanently enabled for shared access - no accounts, no friction.

#### Setting Up Workstations

As an admin, setting up a Workstation takes just a few steps:

1. Open the **Places Dashboard** and go to **Organization → Workstations**.\
   Here, you’ll see all purchased Workstation licenses, including those available and currently in use. If this tab is empty, please contact your Sales representative for assistance.

2. Click **Link headset to activate** on an available workstation to generate a unique access code. The code will appear in a pop-up window.

3. Launch the **Places app** on the headset you want to pair.\
   On first launch, you’ll be prompted to pair the headset with an account - select **Enter workstation key** instead.<br>
4. Enter the access code from the Places Dashboard and submit it.

That’s it! The headset is now paired with the Workstation license and ready for anyone to use - no login required. In the Places Dashboard, the Workstation status will update to **Active**, confirming it’s in use.

#### Managing Your Workstations

For easier organization, you can:

* Rename Workstations
* View headset details

**Need to move a license to another device or just deactivate it?** Simply click **Revoke headset** on the active Workstation. This frees up the license so you can pair it with a different headset, and the previous device will be automatically logged out.
