Room-scale collaboration (Shared Anchors)
Co-located collaboration using shared spatial anchors
Unlock a new dimension of teamwork in ShapesXR — collaborate in mixed reality with people right beside you in the same physical space! With Room-Scale Collaboration, everyone shares the same real-world anchors and sees the same spatial content in perfect sync.
Why Room-Scale Collaboration Matters
Whether you’re ideating, prototyping, or reviewing spatial designs, nothing beats the power of co-located collaboration. With this feature, your team can:
Share a synchronized MR space instantly Everyone in the same room gets a copy of the shared physical space, so your mixed reality content stays aligned and consistent for all participants.
See real-world-correct positions Avatars and objects stay true to real-world positions, making interactions feel natural and immersive.
Edit together seamlessly The person hosting the room can adjust spatial offsets, and everyone joining sees those updates in real time — keeping your session intuitive and collaborative.
Setting up Room-scale Collaboration
Important: before using this feature, please enable "Enhanced spatial services" in Oculus Settings -> Privacy and Safety -> Device Permissions.

Start a Room-Scale Session:
Enter Room-Scale Mode (first set up your physical space).
Switch on “Share my physical space” to broadcast your environment.
Now your teammates in the same location can join and immediately see the shared mixed reality environment.
The user who shares the room can adjust the offset, and these changes are visible to everyone who joins.
Join a Room-Scale Collaboration:
Be in the same physical space and join the same ShapesXR space as a starter.
When someone shares their space, tap Enter to join with synchronized avatars and content.
