Painting Objects in Your Scene

To start painting, open the Toolbar by pressing the A/X button, then select the Paint Tool. This tool allows you to customize objects with different colors, opacities, and materials.

How to Apply Color

You can choose a color using:

  • A color palette

  • A hex code

  • The eyedropper tool (to pick colors from existing objects)

To apply your selected color, simply hover over an object and press the trigger button.

Adjusting Materials

Open the Object Inspector, select the object, and navigate to the Material tab.

Available Material Styles:

  • PBR – Reacts to light realistically.

  • Unlit – Not affected by lighting.

  • Passthrough – Creates a transparent, see-through effect.

Blending Options:

  • Opaque – Solid, no transparency.

  • Alpha Blend – Smooth transparency fade.

  • Alpha Cut – Sharp-edged transparency.

  • Additive – Increases brightness when blended.

  • Multiply – Darkens and blends with the background.

You can also adjust Metalness and Roughness to fine-tune the material’s look.

Using the Eyedropper Tool

If you’d like to copy a color or material from another object, use the eyedropper tool:

  1. Click the eyedropper icon to activate the picker.

  2. Use A/B (X/Y for left-handed) on your dominant controller to set the mode:

  • Pick Color Only

  • Pick Material Only

  • Pick Both

  1. Click on the object with the desired color/material, and it will be applied immediately.
